Looks new! So easy!KHeitzMy Applaro outdoor brown furniture has sat outside unprotected for a few years and it looked so worn. I had wanted to just replace it, thinking it was hopeless. I decided to spend $7 to try the stain first. I did lightly sand the worst parts (bench tops and table top) of the furniture and lightly cleaned it. I used the IKEA brush set to apply it. It went on smooth and easy. You do not need to be good at painting to do this either. I didn’t sand the legs, which were just very faded, and it didn’t matter-it looked great! It is slightly darker than the original color on the first coat. I actually prefer darker colors so I liked it. I applied a second coat to make it even darker. I would say, if you want it to look nice and new, you should just commit to re-staining the whole piece rather than spit touch up. It looks like I had it professionally done.5
darker than furnitureJan114Time will tell how this wears, but it is quite a bit darker and browner than furniture. Because of this, I could not touch up....every slat and piece had to be coated, including the bottoms. First year of use, so maybe with time The durability will outweigh the change of color4

Why discontinued?Grandy52My children and I have several pieces of outdoor IKEA furniture. I’ve use the stain with good results in the past.However when I asked the IKEA folks at our local store in Charlotte, North Carolina, they said it would no longer be available. I purchased the last can they had at the Jacksonville, Florida store. It is a good product that applies easily and restores the finish to new appearance.4
Gray ColorLadyDianaI purchased this in the gray color which is no longer available and stained an outdoor bar as well as outdoor chairs and it turned out perfect! Not dark nor too light in color. Very sleek modern look when my items were finished. I returned to purchase more of the gray and it is no longer available. I wish it would be an item you sell again.5
Better than the restMerl 17My Applaro table finish peeled over the winter. My local IKEA was out of stock of this product so I tried two other outdoor furniture stains, neither one worked at all. Finally local IKEA got this back in stock, and WOW, my furniture looks brand new. Took only 30 min and it looks perfect. I don’t know what this is made of but it works beautifully for half the cost of other brands!5
Expected a lighter colorJoe92313Bought it and I was disappointed. The product picture does not match the outcome. The actual tint is much more yellow not clear like in the photo shown.1
Worked wellbeach galI stained my Ikea table and chairs and this stain worked great. Be sure to wipe off any surplus. Mine dried very quickly. I even used it for a different piece I bought at an art fair so they would match. I'm buying more to keep on hand.5
Easy to useenneyehsGot this for the Applaro outdoor furniture. Before the stain, the wood was somewhat reddish. After the application, he wood has a nice tan sheen. I was a bit wary about the stickiness that one reviewer mentioned. But an hour after application, it seems to dry okay at 70 degrees F. Now after 24hrs, it's still has the feel of maybe when you just have applied lotion, so greasy-ish but not sticky. I use the FIXA paint brush set with it. The liquid paint also looked translucent white that I was worried for a minute, but it was fine.5

I was hopefulLateKateUnfortunately this Varda wood stain did not ever feel dry completely. Perhaps there was not enough dryer in the product. Whether I used it medium or light coat, it simply felt somewhat sticky days later. I have used numerous other brand name stains and sealers for outdoor furniture use and have never had this issue.1
