You get extra soft comfort and support because the thick cushion has a core of pocket springs and a top of cut foam and polyester fibers.

The core of pocket springs is durable and keeps its form and soft comfort for a longer time.

NOLHAGA is a durable cover made of a thicker cotton and polyester fabric with fine details such as a two-toned effect.

The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and can be machine washed.

The turned legs are made of solid beech.

Green oversized chairCAMILAThe size is great but it’s not comfortable at all. The cushioning is very cheap quality for an expensive piece of IKEA furniture. The back cushion also never took to a full shape. The cushion shape is so bad I am considering getting a new filling made because I love the shape and design of the chair.2
Am planning to buy 2 more!Merf56Bought this for a comfy chair to put in my grandchild’s playroom at my house. Cozy for the two of us to sit and read in. It far exceeded expectations. Spouse and I love this chair. So comfy. We are redoing our library and are planning to add two of this chairs. Who says IKEA is just fro poor young folks!! I can afford expensive furniture buy why would I when these are so wonderful! Be patient putting the covers on. It takes a while but is well worth doing it right.5
Update 2 years laterJulie in San DiegoWe have had 2 of these chairs in our family room for over 2 years. The front legs of one chair started to get really wobbly. The metal screw part that is embedded in the chair bottom got loose in the soft plywood. We bought new hardware for both chairs: metric size metal plates that get attached to the chair bottom by screws in four corners, with a hole in the middle that the legs get screwed into. The legs are now solid once again, so our teenager can continue abusing the chairs. This may not be necessary in homes with gentler occupants. Otherwise, the chairs are still comfortable, the cushions still fluffy, the fabric looks brand new. So I would still recommend this chair, but the hardware may need to be replaced for long-term stability.4
So disappointed with color choicekatiejomamaI bought a couple of these chairs a while back in the dark beige. They are great and were perfect for our living room. When we went back to purchase the lighter beige slipcover for a room refresh and it was discontinued. There is no white option or light neutral. They've even discontinued the light blue stripe. I've been waiting over a year for Ikea to bring back the lighter colors and they've only introduced more dark. I would buy more of these chairs if they offered lighter color choices. I've read many other people saying the same thing.1
Excellent Product - Buy it now!sevendivasWe bought this chair for tv watching in our family room - now everyone wants to sit in it. It's sooooo comfortable, everyone loves it from the kids to the parents. We have an ottoman in front that make sitting in it an absolute delight. As someone recommended for the sofa, pay attention to the chair bottom cushion and how the insert is padded when you add the slipcover; it makes a big difference in comfort when you sit on it depending on whether the extra padding is up (yes!) or down (not so comfy). We're saving up to get the sofa and loveseat so we all have (matching and) comfy seating. In addition to being so comfortable, the chair is so great looking; we bought the chair and substituted the black legs instead of the light colored ones - they work better for our room.5
Makes me acheneedanewchairI hardly ever sit on it because before long my neck and back ache. I thought the width would make it more comfortable, but it just makes it take up a crazy amount of room: it has a huge, huge footprint. Great family seating!WeeboomomaWe bought one of this chair, just as a trial run, to see how we liked it. It's been over two years now, and my family fights over who's going to sit in it. We purchased the beige-grey covers, because we figured it would hide pet hair and dirt the best, and it DOES! Yes, we wash the covers, too, and they come out perfect. It's comfy and is wearing very well (and we are REALLY hard on our furniture). I'm crossing my fingers that maybe sometime soon we can get the sofa!5
Comfortable lounging chair!kawamizuI've never purchased IKEA furniture before, and was pleasantly surprised how super easy the assembly was for these chairs. I bought two for my living room area, and the total assembly time was about 20 minutes per chair. The chairs are super comfy, with enough room to sit crosslegged. Also, they are at the perfect height for an ottoman or footstool. I am amazed by IKEA's smart design and ease of construction as well. The chairs are very study and look well made. The added bonus is that you can change the look/color inexpensively with other slipcovers available for purchase, if inclined. I'm so happy with this purchase!5
Great big comfortable chair at home in every decorMirleniBought and assembled this chair together with my husband last week. Assembly was easy and did not require great skill or strength; the part that took the most patience was carefully putting on the slipcovers. The chair is a very pleasing medium gray that fits with beige as well. We chose the dark legs, which seemed to flatter the cover more. We have it in a room that mainly has 1980's Scandinavian furniture, but there are a few very traditional wooden Amish chairs as well. The Stocksund is right at home because the lines are clean, yet a bit softened. Bright Ikea pillow covers over new Ikea feather throw pillows cheer the room up and provide lumbar support for smaller users of the chair. The product is sturdy and elegant in an informal way. It has a 10-year warranty so I am assuming it will also be reasonably durable. My experience is that better Ikea furniture like this usually does last well.5

My only quibble (and I've had this complaint about Ikea furniture of years) is that the seat overhangs the base of the chair by a good 2-3 To me this looks a little sloppy, and I do not understand why Ikea continues to make chairs and sofa cushions in this manner.4

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable and renewable fiber that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry. By only using recycled cotton or cotton from more sustainable sources, working with partnerships and initiatives on the ground and prioritizing compliance, we believe that we can make a positive impact in the world of cotton.

100% cotton from more sustainable source

Since 2015, all cotton in IKEA products is either recycled or comes from more sustainable sources*. This means that we only source cotton grown using sustainable farming practices that reduce the use of fertilisers, pesticides and water, improve working conditions and earnings for farmers, and benefit ecosystem health and biodiversity conservation. We have set up a system that enables use to trace all our cotton and ensure that the final product is from approved, certified sources. *Cotton from more sustainable sources commits to the following schemes: Better Cotton (as defined by BCI, including their equivalence in various geographies), cotton from farmers working towards the BCI standard (TBC).

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labor, child labor or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibers. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water.
