This is the quality I’ve come to expect from IKEA.EdwardThank you for the nice and easy furniture project, I would like it if the instructions were easier to find, but aside from that wonderful!5
It took awhile for thisKellieIt took awhile for this bed to finally come in. BUT we love it!5
A lot of storage in a small footprintREBEKAHI bought this for a new larger mattress (upgraded from full to queen) and am very happy with it so far. The drawers are much larger than I need, but that's not a bad thing. I only really wanted to store sheet sets and blankets in the drawers, but if you have a small room they could definitely be used for clothing in lieu of a chest of drawers. I have sheets and blankets in one, miscellaneous stuff in one, shoes in another, and one is currently completely empty. All of them that are in use still have room to spare as well. It's not a quick project, so be aware of that. It took me a few hours to assemble with help. However, it is a very sturdy bed. The extra time it took me to assemble it, plus the Lonset bed base, was worth it in the end because I don't feel like it's going to be something I need to replace in a few years. In fact, it's so sturdy once assembled that I kind of doubt I ever will try to disassemble it to move it anywhere else. It's staying in the room it's in and will be included with the house when it's sold years from now. I give it 5-stars in every area except ease of assembly. But it makes up for it in perceived durability.5
Love this BedFetnehThis is the 3rd Brimnes bed I've purchased. Have a king in our master bedroom, the rollout twin to king in our guest room, and now a full size in my kids room. This bed is easy to put together and saves a lot of space with the drawers. I choose the Lonset slates this time and was very impressed. They are a lot more sturdy than the Luroy.5
WorksJuan S.It’s a little too firm at the beginning, after a couple days it gets more soft4
Tough assemblyKRYSTENNot the easiest assemble but it all came Together. It looks good and the storage is very roomy5
BED FRAMETrevanWAS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE5
Great bed, challenging assemblyBaWe love this bed and overall are happy with the look and storage. But assembling took is 2 days and a few arguments. The biggest challenge was we live in a small apartment (hence the need for clever storage). But putting this together in a small space was HARD!!! Be prepared to spend a day doing it. Seems very sturdy though! Only part we don’t like are the drawer handles-ankle bruisers we call them. But thats an easy fix.4
Great king size bed andCHERIGreat king size bed and even better was the cost for the size5
Loved itVivianaGo for it. It’s hard to arm but it is worth it.5
Storage bedLisaRaeIt seemed 🤔 like sooo many pieces.. But with easy instructions we used every piece 😅4
Solid!NicoleVery sturdy bed frame with tons of storage. The process of putting it together was lengthy but straight forward.5
Love the quality and sturdinessJeanLove the quality and sturdiness of this bed! The drawers are the larges we found and hold a ton of stuff! Would recommend!!5
This MF is GreatMariahMy room was a MESS, I purchased this bed in an effort to reorganise anddownsize. On my mama, this bed helped. It is durable, cute, and sleek. I was able to get rid of a huge dressor and two night stands. It did take a while to put together, and sometimes the booklet can be a bit stressful, but there are even youtube tutorials for it. This is worth every penny.5
Trash - AVOIDderek f.I put this together by myself. The bed took about 3.5 hours and the drawers took another 1 - 1.5 hours. I dont know what the people taking 8+ hours are doing but they should elaborate on what slowed them down. 1. All the "pre-drilled" holes suck. i had a drill and still couldnt screw the screws in clean. Needed my drill bit 2 widen some of them 1.a All the screws got stripped. Per my comment above, b/c the holes were not drilled properly to allow the screws to go in smooth, i stripped 90% of the screws trying to get them in. So there is no unscrewing anything 1.a.i. Because the holes were not adequately drilled, the screws for the railings would not go properly in which means the drawers would not close. I had to manhandle it with a screw driver and hammer so that the screws were flush so the drawers would work. 1.a.ii All of the handles are loose because of the poorly drilled holes. I suggest you put some glue on the back of the handles for stronger, more flush result2
BRIMNESEllasThe Brimnes took a little bit to put together but as expected. As long as you read the instructions watch a couple YouTube videos and have patience you will be fine because end product is an absolute beautiful piece. And the storage is no joke, it's fabulous.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"Living in a small space often presents big demands for smart storage. That’s what we wanted to solve by creating BRIMNES – a series of functional bedroom furniture with storage in every piece and at a low price. We made the bed frame with generous drawers and the headboard with room for books, magazine files and holes for cables. The wardrobe was given adjustable shelves so that you can maximize your storage. We hope you will enjoy living with this furniture in your home for a long time – regardless of whether you combine them or use them as individual pieces."
