We love this platform bedJasonAwesome bed for the money. The size was perfect for our room.5
Assembled like a well madeSuzaneAssembled like a well made puzzle. Been using it for about 3 months with no signs of wear or weak links. Headboard is comfortable for sitting up. Looks great.5
Great bed, very satisfied.BeatrizGreat bed, very satisfied.4
Do not buy this bedFiona E.We've only had this frame for 7 months and the leg broke already. It started wobbling pretty good about a month ago so we tightened all the legs and then it literally just broke from sitting on it. This is not sturdy at all. What a joke1
Beautiful but LOUDBrandi H.This bed is beautiful but every single time my husband or I move (stretch, roll over, get into or out of bed) the entire thing creaks SO loud. This is night 3 and sleep hasn’t been great because you absolutely wake up every time it creaks. Any suggestions??? We’re disappointed and are hoping it can be fixed.2
Sleek Modern Bed!SaraThis bed was easy for 2 to put together. It's beautiful and modern looking but didn't break the bank. We couldn't recommend it more!5
Tried to fix after leg broke off, ended up breaking againCitlayi V.I believe the construction of this bed is very poor because when I originally put it together one of the legs was not screwing on as tight as the others, but I thought okay, not a big deal. After having the bed for about 5 months one of the legs completely broke off because it unscrewed. I spent a whole day fixing the bed, going to buy a screw that matched the one it came with, trying to find the right tools to assemble it correctly without unscrewing the leg itself while attaching it to the bed frame. I was able to fix it good enough but one month later (today) the same leg broke off again. It 181 days since I purchased this poorly constructed bed and unfortunately I cannot get the refund even though I should have just returned it when I first noticed all the legs were not stable to begin with. I do not recommend this bed for anyone, even though the backboard is adorable. Now I will be sleeping just on my mattress until I can figure out a replacement.1
I don’t even know where to beginRielle K.When we first put the bed together it was wobbly and my boyfriend went around tightening every leg and even went as far as to replace one. Then the wooden mid beam broke (why they would start using wood for the mid beam when every bed I have seen/had in the past has had a metal beam I have no idea) and that’s when all of our problems really started. We live two hours away from our nearest store and were told contradicting things from customer service on how to fix it, six different people lead us astray. After two months it finally seemed like we actually had good solid advice on how to replace it, but they didn’t have the bed in stock and now we’re stuck until they get another one in. And who knows how long that will take? My bedroom is my safe space and not being able have a good nights sleep has made me a wreak personally and professionally. If you’re considering buying this bed and sleep is as important to you as it is to me I wouldn’t gamble on this bed frame.1

Easy to assemble, attractive andMARYEasy to assemble, attractive and affordable and the footprint was perfect for my space. Wondering why I had a hard wood headboard for so long now that I have a nice soft upholstered one.5
We are very pleased withSUEWe are very pleased with the bed frame. It is sturdy, attractive and comfortable.5
Legs broke 3 months after purchase!Dawn D.Waited forever for this bed, read reviews before we purchased, two legs broke off after 3 months. Have bought a lot of Ikea items and never had issues. Really makes me wonder if they changed the structure of this bed or legs or bolts etc when they weren't shipping it all summer long. Not sure if we will return it or have my husband make some different legs--which we shouldn't have to do. Very disappointed!2
Worst. Bed. Ever.Kelly B.Bought this bed in a queen size in January. Waited for weeks for it to come back in stock. Got it home, put it together (difficult to do alone). Bed was wobbly, but ultimately, fine…..for two weeks. First leg gave way. Fixed it several times. Tonight, less than a month after owning it, a second leg gave way. Two legs down and I am now, at this moment, sleeping on a sloping bed frame. Frustrated and incredibly annoyed. Just, want my money back. Would love to give this zero stars. Not sure how.1
Poorly ConstructedALISON N.Purchased this bed frame in June 2021, by December 2021 it was busted and in need of replacement. My family has purchased many ikea items throughout the years but I think this shall be our last.1
After what seemed foreverLISAI swear I think I waited almost a year for this bed to come in stock! Worth the wait! Super easy to put together, love the color, holds up very nice. Worth every penny.5
Beautiful bed.Sandra Y.I absolutely love this bed. I got a king in pink, a beautiful calming color. I’ve never had an upholstered headboard, nice and soft to lean against. I’ve found it very sturdy and solid, the quality is excellent, not sure why others say it’s wobbly, just follow the instructions. I used the lower height setting as I’ve got a 14 in mattress. I use a flat king sheet over my fitted sheet and just tuck it in between the frame and mattress, washing just the flat sheet when needed, much easier to make the bed. Such a great value for a beautiful bed. Love it. Thanks IKEA.5
Super pretty, NOT sturdyNalin R.After about 6th months, this bed frame completely fell apart. The legs of this bed frame are like stilts and leave indents in your floor (I have hardwood). After replacing the legs with concrete blocks, we were fine. This was until the middle piece (running from the top of the bed to the bottom of the bed, holding the mattress) completely snapped in half. There are no mid-supports that go to the ground. This bed frame is pretty, but expect it to break after 6 months.2
Hope your mattress isn"t heavy!HIARY P.I like the look of this bed frame, but the mattress sits several inches inside the base and it makes making this bed a nightmare - even with two people it's super hard to get the sheets tucked. Also, after just a few months of use the king size is starting to creak and feel wobbly. I would return it if I could manage to get it back to the store.3
Looks good.YanaLooks good.5
Beautiful bed!Alli S.I love this bed and am super happy with the purchase! I got the pink in a king size and it’s beautiful—just enough color to brighten up the room but not such an overwhelming pink it feels childish. I put it together by myself in about three hours—definitely awkward for one person, and I had to get pretty creative propping up some pieces to get all the corners together. I’d recommend having an extra person around to hold stuff in place for you, but it can be done by one person if you’re determined enough. Just be prepared to struggle a bit by yourself. A couple other reviews mentioned the king size is wobbly, but I find it to be very sturdy! I also like that it has the option to pick the height you want your slats; perfect since I have a very thick mattress. I had another ikea bed before this one, so had some idea what to expect going in. The upholstery is nice and the headboard is great for sitting up in bed and reading. Definitely recommend!4

Our take on polyester

Polyester is a durable, wrinkle-resistant and easy-care material that is ideal for many home furnishing products like rugs, pillows, quilts and cushions. The downside to virgin polyester is that it is made from oil, coal or natural gas. This means that when we use virgin polyester, we are exhausting the planet’s natural resources. Our response to this, is to replace all virgin polyester with recycled in our products. In 2020, we achieved the milestone of replacing 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products and will accelerate the transformation towards the aim of only using recycled polyester throughout the product range where polyester is used.

Virgin vs recycled polyester

Originally, all polyester was made from oil-based raw materials which are not renewable but we are switching to only using recycled polyester. The good thing is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without negatively affecting the quality of our products. When we make products from recycled polyester, we give a second life to material that is not biodegradable and reduce the amount that may otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. Instead, PET and other sources of polyester are used to make textiles, storage boxes, kitchen fronts and even lamps. Recycled polyester is just as good as virgin polyester in terms of looks, quality and function, and produces about 50% less in CO2 emissions. And the material is just as clean and safe in every way.

Some challenges with recycled polyester

Recycled polyester makes us less dependent on oil. The amount we convert, is equal to the amount of virgin fossil fuel we eliminate from our polyester raw material (this excludes potential dyeing and other post recycled polyester production treatments). With some exceptions, the challenge is not the conversion of polyester into recycled itself, but to make it available to everyone by keeping it affordable. Buying low environmental impact products often comes with a higher price tag. We want to change that by working to make recycled polyester products more affordable and accessible to the many people.

Only recycled polyester

IKEA is committed to end the dependency on virgin fossil materials and only use renewable or recycled materials by 2030. We are accelerating this movement for polyester in our range and aim to replace all virgin polyester in our textile products with recycled. In 2020, IKEA replaced 79% of the virgin polyester used in IKEA textile products with recycled polyester. In volume, this means we converted 130,000 metric tonnes of recycled polyester, and saved 200,000 tonnes of virign polyester. We haven’t reached our 100% goal yet, but we have come far and overcome many obstacles on the way. These volumes make us a leader in converting to recycled polyester and we hope that our decisions can inspire and motivate whole industries to change.

Responsible sourcing

At IKEA, we demand that all recycled polyester used in IKEA products shall come from recyclers that are compliant with the Global Recycled Standard and traceability is secured to the IKEA product through requirements toward the IKEA Suppliers. By only using recycled polyester that meets the Global Recycled Standards we manage to secure social, environmental and chemical practices at the recycler’s production. We believe that the GRS standard is the best standard on the market today. We work with our partners and textile organisations such as Textile Exchange to further improve standards on recycled materials, including traceability of material beyond the recycling units.

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.

Designer thoughts

“Nowadays, the bed is not only a place where you sleep, but also work, study, watch TV series – and socialize digitally with friends and family. That’s why one of my ideas with IDANÄS upholstered bed frame was to make the sloping headboard as comfy as the backrest of a sofa. Another that it should give a calm and cozy impression, but still feel light, stylish, and elegant. Most of all, I hope many people will love this piece of furniture and spend a lot of time in it!”
