Love it BUTRhiannonThe drawers are so big but a huge portion of the back is inaccessible because the drawers don’t come out even close to all the way. It’s frustrating. A lot of space is unusable. Other than that I love it.4
Nice size deskMichelleI have 2 monitors that fit well on the desk, only wish the section to hide the cords was a little bigger. I have several larger monitor plugs that plug into my surge protector which leaves the space quite cramped.3
I love this desk. ItDanaI love this desk. It was easy and quick to put together.5
beautiful deskStephanieThis is a beautiful desk, but I didn't assemble it--pretty sure the assembly is why others didn't give it 5 stars.5
Love the clean lines and construction of this desk!NancyI purchased two of these for my sewing room. They are sleek and sturdy. Love them!5
Quality not up to Ikea standardsPETERI have been buying Ikea furniture for decades and this is the first time the quality was really poor. I had to use nails to secure sections where pre-drilled holes were misaligned. It was at the very final stage so no point in trying to return it. Hopefully, this is a once-off mishap and not a sign of ongoing quality issues to cut costs.2
love this deskSamantha G.i love this desk but honestly wish i would be able to only purchase the table portion by itself to be able to make a mega alex desk with two alex drawers on each side and this as it’s table. if ikea could answer and let me know if this is possible i would love that!3
Just what I was lookingJuanJust what I was looking for, slim design and white, at a very good price 👍5
It took forever to install the cable container!!!Ting T.It took forever to install the cable container in the back, that is definitely a defect, while this desk looks nice but size is small than you think. And the table is heavy than you think.2
Holes drilled incorrectly-cannot assembleSophia M.I am halfway through assembling this desk and I get to the tabletop and the holes are drilled all over the place- none of them align with the other pieces- there are more holes drilled into the main piece than are necessary and the ones that are there are not sufficient to assemble the desk. I’m very disappointed as I have no way to return the desk.1
Love the desk; need under the desk storageKELLY H.I bought my Alex desk almost 2.5 years ago and still love it. Assembly was easy, and it's been easy to remove (and reinstall) the desktop from the support structure. I've relocated the desk three times in my home, and it's still in perfect condition. I need a new filing cabinet and for space saving purposes, I wanted to purchase a matching Alex cabinet for under the desk, however they're all too tall, so I'll need to find another solution. As an FYI, the "Height under furniture" measurement provided is misleading. The measurement is correct if you are measuring from the bottom of the drawers to the floor as indicated in the picture, however, there is a cross support under the desk that extends lower than the drawers. For those planning to put a storage unit under the desk like I am, then you'll want to ensure that the item is no taller than approximately 58.5 cm (23") to have enough clearance.5
Perfect deskDEBBIEWe needed a simple desk for my basement home office. This is the perfect size and has just enough surface area to accommodate my desktop and printer easily.5
Nice DeskSTANOnce assembled, the desk is very well built. The instructions related to the center support inside the desk and the hardware for the flip part of the desk left something to be desired. But overall the desk is very nice.5
Couldn"t install at all and bad qualityWenting W.The quality is like paper. Both side pieces have cracks. The bottom piece couldn't be installed because the nail holes on it won't match with the middle piece. For this price, this desk doesn't worth at all.1
My new nail tableGiaGreat storage with these drawers, helps to keep me organized5
Nice deskNOTSETReally love the color, easy to put together.5
LOVE!JuleeI sew! So I have bought 3 of these desks for my sewing space. I have 3 different machines, one on each desk. I love these desks. Great height for me. They look nice. I appreciate that there's 2 drawers per desk. I love that the cords can hide in the cord cubby at the back. I like the skinny legs too.5
Upgraded from the Micke deskPaigeUpgraded from the Micke desk to this Alex one, it's much sturdier and feels better quality. I feel like the price is $20-30 too high, but definitely don't regret the purchase and would recommend it.5
Super Sturdy Desksusaneasy to assemble except for last step that connected cable lid to desk. hinge was stripped and lid does not close flush. took 1 hour to assemble desk and 3 hours to figure out how to make lid close functionally. daughter absolutely loves desk. both drawers open & close smoothly. hidden cable feature keeps desk neat. grades improved, too :)5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.
