Office storageRebeccaI have one I bought years ago. Decided I needed to replace a plastic drawers unit with another Helmer because it is sturdier and looks better. The directions were awful. I had to take it apart and try again a few times, especially the sliders for the shelves. By then they started to get a little warped and now the bottom drawer is difficult to open and close correctly.3
Love itIKEDELAIt’s the permit size to fit the small space by my desk. However be careful when assembling so you don’t bend the parts5
DurableNatalieI bought two of these to keep extra makeup, facial and hair products. It was easy to assemble and the drawers have plenty of room. Will purchase again if I need more.5
nice little storage cabinetWendyPerfect for storing craft items.4
Great little cabinet!PriscillaSturdy and easy to use and clean.5
I have an older modelDianaI have an older model and needed another one so I purchased this one. It seems more flimsy than the older model. It still has the same space though.3
Avoid at all costsEmma S.I purchased this cabinet at 12:30 today. It is now 4:30pm and it is still not together. This is the worst assembly process I have ever endured and when I am done writing this, I will be returning it. For $50 folded metal tabs is not adequate enough to hold this thing together, and other areas on it bend so easily that you can’t get the racks for the drawers to snap in properly. There is literally a nightmare to deal with and I’m not even going to finish assembly. Do not buy this, just splurge for the nice drawers all the beauty influencers have; clearly those are worth the price. Super disappointed.1
Didn"t Work OutKaydenThis product is great in theory. But, the assembly, and functionality of this is impeded by the lack of durability. For the cost, I expected the ability to move the drawers at least in and out without fearing them falling apart- which happens. every. single. time. Go for another option2
It’s honestly not that bad. Poor assembly yields poor results.Alicia B.Almost passed on this based on reviews. Had to see in person at my local store. Again, passed it up after the drawer front fell off completely and I spent 5 minutes putting it back together. Then I saw the black one and it was in great condition so I took a chance. Yes, it’s tedious but not terrible. Bring in extra tools to make this happen. Pay attention to the minutest detail of the illustrations in the instructions. The side rails will give the slightest ‘click’ when inserted properly. I question the machining of the screws/holes to attach wheel plates like they are the slightest bit mismatched. Needed force to screw them on. Finally- forget using a screwdriver to press the tabs. I used an Allen wrench to get them started and needle nose pliers to fold them completely down. Bending the tabs only 90 degrees will make this unit blow over when you breathe. I also didn’t fold the drawer side stoppers down because I grew up in an era where you learned things the hard way.5
Storage for art suppliesMaryI use this cabinet for storing all those tubes of paint, with the tabs on the drawer fronts as reminders about which type of media is inside each drawer. I had to use small dabs of tacky clay to keep the tabs, which I laminated, in the slots on the drawer fronts. This was fun to assemble, and works well. To begin with, I had folded down the drawer stops on the sides of the drawers, but it made it so the drawers did not pull out far enough to satisfy me, so I undid them, starting at the top. Now, they work perfectly, and I am not afraid that I will pull the drawers out too far, as I grew up w/out drawer stops and know how far out to pull a drawer to get what I need at the back. I do find this a functional and good-looking little cabinet. Perfect for my smaller paint supplies that can be difficult to organize. Love it.5
Never, ever buy this unit. It’s falling apartDiogo B.We bought this unit to organize our bathroom things but it is just so frustrating. The metal drawers complete fall apart and you need to keep fixing it. They don’t roll easy either.1
Like the product but theNicoleLike the product but the labels don’t stay in the holders. Also would like a choice of colors.3
Nice design and function. Two-toneANGELANice design and function. Two-tone really set it apart from other cabinets.4
The worst piece of Ikea furniture I ownJennifer S.I wanted to love this, but it has been a disappointment. It took a long time to assemble, and typically I do not mind assembling Ikea furniture. There are many sharp edges to work with, as you need to bend each flat sheet of metal for the drawers. Despite putting it together carefully, one of the drawers sits slightly crooked. The top drawer constantly sticks, but I can't figure out why (and takes considerable force to open/close). The inside dimensions of the drawer seem just slightly smaller than what would be useful. Aside from that, the casters on the bottom only allow you to move the drawer forward and backward. For $50, I feel they should have provided nice rolling casters. The handle hardware is also not shiny and smooth as shown in the photo, so it makes the drawer look cheap. I might try to spray paint them in the future. I Initially I thought I would buy a second one, but I'm glad I waited, because I would be mad to have spent $100 on two of them. My advice: keep looking.2
FunctionalTRACYMy only real complaint is the wheels do not turn. You can only slide it forward and backward.4
Cute but drawers don"t slide wellJade F.I thought I assembled this properly but I guess I must have tightened the drawers too much because some of them are near impossible to open/close, which is super annoying. And I don't see a way to fix that, so I'm kinda stuck with drawers that aren't very functional.3
Really nice but instructions need to be clearSARAILove it! It is sturdy and the perfect size. Only issue I had that the assembling pictures were a bit confusing...it would be nice if they put stickers or something in the pieces, so you know the panels are on the right side.5
Flimsy but SpaciousAshley B.Bought 2 of these as a cheaper alternative to the Alex drawers and they’re actually decent storage. They currently hold all of my art and office supplies. They’re not super tall so they don’t hold anything big, but pens and pencils chill in the drawers nicely. One big thing though, theres no screws or tools needed to put them together. Just bits of thin metal that fold into eachother and I HATE it! The back and top pieces constantly slide off when moved. The drawers are holding together nicely after 2 years though, so I guess it’s worth the hassle.4
it looks good in the pictures but not worth the moneyClaudia C.I love IKEA products and have no issues assembling parts - yes, we do exist. With that said, this product was unnecessarily difficult to assembly because of its poor design and engineering. It is a thin metal that you bend and folds into drawers that slide into rails that connect to the main structure with hooks and openings. The rails are not secure and easily fall off if you pull too hard or pull up or down. The drawers do not pull out smoothly either. I would not recommend it. I advise that you purchase something else instead.1
defectiveSEONAH L.My husband and I spent couple of hours to assemble step #1&2. So frustrated that I should spend extra couple of hours for the return trip to IKEA.1
