Great CabinetJENNIFERThis a is a great piece. I needed something not too wide and not too deep for my dining room. Kitchen cabinets provide limited space, and had no place to shelve cookbooks, nor had any where to keep table runners/placemats and such. This has provided a wonderful solution. The piece is solid and fairly easy to assemble. Thought I would struggle getting the doors adjusted correctly, but was not too difficult. I am very pleased with this cabinet.5
Nice and sturdy !JanieNice and sturdy !5
Perfect!NancyI will Definitely recommend this item to friends and family. So easy to put together, looks really nice, and the price was great! The only downside was the backside of the backboard wasn’t finished in white which would’ve been perfect!5
Love itHarveyLove it5
LOVE IT!TeresaI LOVE this hutch as I call it. Plenty of room to hold my cookbooks and other items on the shelves with the doors. Keeps things out of sight. Nice sleek lines, easy to assemble. The color is amazing.5
Beautiful & Functional UnitDAVIDFor my 10ft by 9.5ft bedroom, I needed something that could hold my DVD/Blu-Ray and Book collection. This piece is PERFECT for that, and the cabinet underneath gives me ample storage for other items. I love it.5
classyLoriThe cabinet is very sturdy and well built. I'm impressed with the upgraded attachment hardware, especially for putting on the back piece. No more tiny nails to wreck the finish when you miss the center while hammering your thumb. My only issue is with the hinge adjustment but I always struggle with those. Hoping to find more in this series. Maybe just the bottom portion or another tall one with doors all the way up4
wanted to make a entertainmentpennywanted to make a entertainment center i bought 3 of these one for my sewing room and two for the living room to go on each side of the Besta large tv unit , not all the part are in for the Besta but we have put together the Hauga and they look great love the storage , easy assembly to boot !5
Great addition to craft roomLauraWas hard to assemble and difficult to adjust the cabinet doors.4
Great once its put togetherMicheleThe Hauga Cabinet is everything I hoped it would be once it is put together. I actually bought 3 of them to put in my dining room. They look great and have a lot of storage space. I like that there is both open shelves and closed cabinet storage with mostly adjustable shelves. I just don't understand why the instructions for putting things together don't include words. It would be so much easier. After we put together the first one, the others were quicker to put together. I would recommend this item with the advice that the boxes are very heavy, you need 2 people to put them together, wear sturdy shoes while putting them together for safety.4
Great Storage, Perfect For Home Library or As "Built-Ins"!AileenI bought these for books & decorative storage (above) and boardgames/toy storage (below). They are perfect to give the "Built-In" bookshelf look, flanking my couch in the living room. Taller than I imagined, with a nice smooth finish & simple classic style. The bottom cabinet was slightly shallower than I imagined, but still works great!!5
Easy to assemble. Clear instructionsMelissaEasy to assemble. Clear instructions and illustrations5
Love it but no nice baseboard curveAmandaIt’s exactly what you would expect for the price. Easy to put together and does the job. I put a Billy and o berg next to this and bingo it now looks way more up market5

Love this piece!!!monicaI purchased two for my craft space. Such a beautiful piece of furniture. Easy assembling, but does require two people to attach the top section onto the bottom cabinet. Very stylish and great finish.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.
