A Great DresserGEORGEThis dresser works great, and is a good value for the money. It was fairly easy to put together, although having a second person is a must while assembling it. The Slow Close drawers work good, but not very smooth when it engages to start the Slow Close process. The sides of the drawers are solid wood. A lot of the rest of the dresser is laminated pressed wood (particle board), I would have preferred solid wood. The dresser top, drawer fronts, and legs are solid wood and beautiful. The dark color is what we wanted, and is nice, but requires frequent dusting in my environment. All things considered, the look, feel, and quality are very high.5

This did take me several hours to assemble by myself, but I’m hoping all those pieces I screwed in and connected will make it sturdier and longer lasting.5
Pleasantly SurprisedEmily H.I've been looking everywhere for a quality dresser for my first baby (willing to spend up to around $1200, but everything we like seems to be back-ordered for 6+ months). When this came in stock, I took a chance & quickly bought it. Assembly wasn't bad considering we don't have tons of experience with IKEA furniture. It took about 2.5 hours for me & my husband to assemble. We skimmed through a youtube video beforehand to make sure we understood the directions correctly. We didn't have to redo any steps. My husband made several comments that this is higher quality than an Ikea dresser he purchased 10 years ago. We like the solid wood, soft close drawers, & that it's painted (rather than stained with the grain showing through). Seems like it might last up to the pre-teen years. I like the drawer sizes - small ones up top will be good for diaper supplies/accessories. Bottom drawers for bedding. The top is a good size for a Polyurethane foam changing pad we picked up..5

IKEA Idanas dresser & chest of drawersBeverlyWe’ve been searching for our master bedroom furniture and we’re very pleased when we found what Idanas offered! We especially love the solid feel and the anti-slam feature. Their furniture color is limited to either dark chocolate or white (we were actually looking for a caramel color), but we liked it so much we were willing to compromise on the color scheme.5

I chose the darker color because you can see the actual wood under the stain and it’s not TOO dark like some of the other black-brown IKEA pieces. Assembly took awhile but I did it all by myself (smallish female). I also found a YouTube video of someone that already assembled it and found that quite helpful. For some of the pieces there are multiple holes to choose and different ways of putting things together, just follow the directions very carefully and it will come together just as it should! The soft close drawers are amazing and they already have a cute print inside (I was going to add my own but don’t need to now!). I did swap out the knobs for something more fun. The only reason I am giving four stars is because my 2/3 box had the wrong pieces inside, although it was labeled correctly. I had to make a second trip to IKEA and stand in the returns line to make the swap which no one wants to do. Other than that I love it!4

Pretty, pretty, pretty good...one caveatHumbertoIt is VERY pine-y smelling...my wife who's sensitive to such things flipped and so it turned into something of a hassle. Coating all the drawers in baking soda and letting them sit for a while (and by a while I mean days) outside. So far so good though and it's a good piece for the money.5
Unfortunatelly the assamble failedCarolinaI hired someone to assemble and it looks very bad, I dont know if the problem is form the furniture or not, but the drawers are not aligned and it looks bad, I will have to return it cause its impossible to use it..2

What is veneer?

A veneer is a thin wooden sheet attached to things like particleboard to add a durable surface and a natural wood look – so we enjoy the many benefits of wood without using solid wood. The most common veneer types are birch, ash, oak, and beech, and we’ve made a special UV lacquer that helps preserve the wood's natural structure. A benefit with a slightly thicker veneer is how you can repair and sand the surface if it’s damaged to give furniture a longer and more beautiful life.
