Great Cabinet! Just waiting on new stock to purchase more.VenitaLove the cabinet. Great quality, easy to put together. Hate that one was damaged upon delivery. And now they are out of stock. Patiently waiting for more so that I can finish my look, as outlined on their website.5
I am sad that theyHugoI am sad that they don't have the tall cabinet with the glass doors. I've been waiting for it for 4 months now.5
Satisfying buyDIGNAThe cabinet is a great buy. I’m 5”6 and the top of the cabinets come to my ribs. Which I so love because I want a high cabinet where I can use to also display items. I got two and place it side by side. They come with the two shelf insert that make three shelf space to sort out your bins. You can manipulate how high or low you want to shelf to be. The color black is beautiful and the way it feel. I got the one without the glass doors because I want to stored different things, so it would be best to hide it and when it closed, the space look clean of clutter -and elegant. Also I love how the bottom is closed but also have base if you want to add legs or wheels. Building was quick and easy.5
Incomplete CabinetNataliaI bought the Cabinet online and paid shipping. When I started putting it together, one side was missing. I had to make MANY calls to get the issue resolved. I do not recommend buying online, also the furniture has bumps from the transfer.3
Great solutionBeatriceWe were in need of storage and have a long wall- I got 4 of them. Pretty fast to put together. I did customized them by changing the handles and adding a finished wood top. Looks great.5
Just an excellent piece forGeorgeJust an excellent piece for the money Very practical and attractive5
Product is good enoughMike T.Product is relatively good except the top layer can peel easily if not handled with TLC during assembly and the back of the cabinet is just a piece of thin cardboard as mentioned by other reviewers. Yes, we had a gap between the doors too, but by following the instruction (#27) and a video shared on youtube, we were able to fix the gap. The door handles did not fit nicely to the door too because the screws given were too long. So the door handles are loose. Just won't tighten further. So we use a rubber band to wind round each of the 2 screws of the handle to fill the gap, thereby tightening up the door handle and so no issue when we pull on the handles to open the cabinet. Esthetically not a major issue since the screws are on the inner side of the door. Generally, it serves its function and think the price will be more reasonable if it is $80 range than $100.4
Fixes to improve cabinet before assemblyDavid M.1.Aligning the doors requires that the cabinet is level, and you want it level anyway. I installed leveling feet, the ones with the nut that screws into the wood, not the "T" nut type. Available on Amazon and large hardware stores. -2.The top will sag over time, especially if there is anything on top. To prevent this, attach a 1"x2" oak board or similar to the back of the top bar to reinforce it. That is the bar on step 6 of the instructions. That bar is not sturdy enough on its own to keep the top from sagging.4
GreatAmandaI have 2 and will be getting a 3rd. Love these5

Brimnes cabinetDeniseGreat looking and sturdy cabinet5
Perfect fitChelseaI needed something in my dining room for a buffet. I bought two of these they fit so well in my dining room. They have added so much storage to the area. I would buy these again. I’m also going to add the glass door cabinet to this set too. The door are kind of tricky with having them be level and meeting in the middle correctly.5
Awesome Utility PieceDanielleCurrently have 2 in my home, one as a toy cabinet and the other as a liquor cabinet. Serves a great purpose and they look great! We painted the handles gold and it was a really quick and easy upgrade. Highly recommend.5
Just what I neededKathryn S.This was my first purchase with Ikea. I needed something with a specific height, width and depth. This fit the bill. I followed the instructions (pictures), looked at them very carefully as I went along, and everything came together as it should with the exception of a gap between the doors. I tried to adjust and switch the doors, but I just couldn’t make the gap disappear. I have a fix for it, so it’s not a deal breaker. It’s a beautiful, well made cabinet.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.
