Product details

A simple unit can be enough storage for a limited space or the foundation for a larger storage solution if your needs change.

You can create your own unique solution by freely combining cabinets of different sizes, with or without doors and drawers.

The door has an integrated push-opener so you can open it with just a light push.

A movable shelf makes it easy to adapt the space to your storage needs.

Assembly is quick and easy, thanks to the wedge dowel that clicks into the pre-drilled holes.

Must be completed with EKET suspension rail if you choose to mount the frame on the wall. This frame requires 1 suspension rail, 27½" long, sold separately.

To be completed with feet or legs if you choose to place the cabinet on the floor. Sold separately.

This furniture must be secured to the wall with the enclosed wall fastener if you choose to place the cabinet on the floor.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

The maximum load for a wall-hung cabinet depends on the wall material.

Laundry area refreshDAWNEBought 2 Eket cabinets to replace worn cabinets in laundry area. Love that they are bigger than what we had without being too big for space. Minor assembly issues (haven’t been able to adjust one door so it doesn’t rub).4
UnevenAlishaWe have a lot of ikea furniture in our home and this one is the worst. It's impossible to get the doors to line up correctly. We will be returning.1
Nice little cabinetTraciThis small cabinet is just what I needed to hide my modem in my study. The shelf inside is adjustable so I adjusted the height just above my modem which sets on the bottom of the cabinet. The shelf has plenty of room for papers, folders and other office supplies. The size of the cabinet is small enough to fit in a corner of the room but leaves plenty of space for the modem, charging station, cords and enough "breathing space" so the modem doesn't overheat. My husband put it together without any issues. The push & release hardware malfunctioned once-husband fixed it but don't know how long it will hold up. May have to upgrade it with better quality closure hardware, My only complaint is that Ikea didn't have the "feet" for this cabinet. I keep checking every week to see when they will get restocked.4
Hanging Wall CabinetsSalomonEasy to build and install. Just remember the brackets for wall mounting are not enclosed.5
PRECISELY engineeredJennie S.I was nervous because of the reviews I had read, however I am glad I made this purchase. This is a great value for an inexpensive storage solution. I use it in a closet. Work as a team, take your time & PRECISELY follow the assembly instructions and it’s perfect. Do not buy this if you’re not smart &/or are lazy. You need to take your time & precisely follow the pictured directions.5
Decent product...assembly needs workRENEE S.Had my eye on other storage systems but...stock issues like everywhere else. So I bought 4 of these for storage in our basement. I almost got scared off by reviews, but I will say that all 4 back panels for all 4 shelves fit differently, in spite of following the instructions. I peg it on inconsistent cuts. When those panels don't fit as the instructions specify, the notched out slides to assemble the rest of the cube don't want to line up. It took a lot of extra muscle to force things where they needed to go to complete assembly. Definitely requires two people. I have two hemnes bookcases and two billy bookcases, and they were much easier to assemble with their back panels.4
Not worth the headache!Lauren W.I read the reviews and thought it would be a good little bookshelf for my bedroom. And it might have been, if I had ever been able to get it together! From the beginning, this shelf was a massive headache. Two of the screw holes were too big for the tiny screws, so they wouldn't screw in. Then once I figured that out, one of the sides would not fit neatly into the top of the cabinet. All but not millimeter to go and as I tried to maneuver the three pieces that were already together to get a better grip, one of the others broke off in such a way that the entire shelf was rendered unusable. Needless to say I will be returning this to the store ASAP. Please do yourself a favor and DON'T buy this cabinet!1
Disappointed for the priceErika G.Functional for our small kitchen but really upset with the uneven doors - makes it look cheap. Wish I read the reviews prior to buying but it was impulse at the store.2
Tricky hingesLILYLove this piece, although we had some difficulty figuring out the hinges they are very tricky. If done wrong the doors will look off. The hinges will face opposite directions on both sides in order to make spacing around doors even. I see that many people have difficulty with this and end up taking it back.5
Happy with the product forChristyHappy with the product for the price.4
Great sleek storageAnneGreat cabinets. Bought 2, 1 turned out perfect with even doors. 2nd one, doors are uneven and I cannot take them off to try to figure out problem. My sister bought 4 and has the same problem with 1. Other than that, great cabinet and great look!4
Easy assembly, looks great!DEBRAHI would have given this a 5-star rating, but I wish this were wood…4
Great and useful productBABATUNDEGreat and useful product5
Love it. Sturdy and fitsJESSICALove it. Sturdy and fits perfectly where I want it!5
It does the jobHeatherBut I wish it was built better so the doors lined up, and that the push open worked better.3
Just what we neededJASONEasy to assemble and install. They seem sturdy.5
Super functional for small kitchenJoanleePerfect for my small kitchen - it's not too deep yet able to store quite a bit. This is stand-alone wall cabinet and the installer installed it bottom side up so the finished side is visible. The door can be operated with or without the push button and I like the flexibility.4
great, exceptgecko88i bought this a month ago ... along with 14 other EKET pieces — the 14 other pieces went together like a charm — this one, not so much — breakage of critical parts made it impossible to assemble — contacted IKEA, and spoke with a rep who was very courteous and said replacement parts would be sent out, to arrive in 5-7 days and a confirmation of shipping would be emailed — two weeks later, nothing arrived, a follow up conversation with another courteous rep, resulted in another statement of 5-7 days with shipping confirmation e-mail to be sent — two more weeks, no shipping confirmation email, no parts — trying to finish the project and getting frustrated2
Poor QualityDawn31I door hinges were made of plastic. I returned the whole unit and went with a Besta cabinet instead. I would not buy Eket products again.1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

New technologies, new hobbies, a new family member ... both small and large changes affect life and people's needs at home, especially when it comes to all the things that we need space for. Petra Kammari Enarsson is a product developer at IKEA and often visits the homes of customers to experience their everyday living and how good storage can make life at home a little easier. She remembers a family in Copenhagen which expanded every other weekend with the daughter from a previous relationship. ”She didn't have her own room, but the family had a solution where she had a loft bed in the living room and her private things were in a chest on the floor”. Petra thinks it's a good example of how more and more people are living in small spaces, and that a large part of everyday living takes places in the living room where we want things to be both practical and stylish.

Flexible furniture for new needs

Another obvious trend around the world is that many people move more often - just as Petra did when she was young. ”The problem is that a lot of storage furniture is so inflexible – upon moving or new needs arising, they can't be adapted. This means storage isn't optimal and it's difficult to keep track of all your things”. These insights inspired Petra and her colleagues to start looking at a more flexible and personal storage solution – something that can easily be updated so that people don't have to buy new furniture as soon as something in life changes. Petra then started to think about those fishing boxes she had when she was young and which were so easy to stack and move as needed. What if you could make a piece of furniture which consists of various smart modules that can be easily moved around, removed and added to?

Building with blocks

Petra and her team started by ordering cardboard boxes in various sizes. They took the boxes to different room environments where they moved them around like building blocks – stacking and combining them in various ways. The team also researched detailed facts about storage: on average, how many magazines do we have at home? What’s the ideal height for people to put down their mobile phones? ”Many of us put keys, telephones or bags in a specific place when we come home. We usually do it automatically, without thinking about it”, says Petra. The height that seems to suit most people is 31½", so a shelf at that height was a given in the mix of shelves, drawers and cabinets in different colors and styles that eventually became the EKET storage series. ”I'm so pleased that we chose to prioritize playfulness and freedom of choice with all the colors and sizes of EKET”, says Petra, who's looking forward to visiting more homes. ”I think that the customers will find lots of exciting combinations that we haven't even thought of!”.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light and resource-efficient, yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
