I love itMADELINEWish it had even more panels! Also would like it if the elastic were gray so it was one color!4
Organization in one placeDIANAThis is a great piece for my classroom. I use it for centers or the daily 5. The students have everything they need tucked away nicely in this trifold. Once they are done cleanup is a snap, they close it and store it for another student. Well made.5
Well madeAmyI am using this as a personal flannel board for my class when there is a child who needs to calm down or wants to play by themself.5
Divider/OrganizerIvBought this for my class during testing. Very nice. Keeps students honest, to a point. Fits desks perfectly. Would have been great in more colors.5
Close but not loving itSARAHI wish this had a hanging option or a way to fix it to the surface without my child worrying about it falling. I find it takes up a lot of desk space. Perhaps if the back portion was slightly wider it might work a little better. I’m not certain. It does help some. It was a great idea for a larger surface but not so effective for small desk space.3
Great solution to a temporary situationJenniferThis worked out well for our two students. They can use it at school or at home and it easily folds up. The elastic straps keep their work and pencils in place while transporting.5

Get the homework started

Sometimes it can be hard to find a quiet nook and get started with homework. With the ÖVNING series, we wanted to develop smart tools so your child can easily find peace and quiet. In the room as well as in body and mind.

“When we do home visits and interview children around the world, we see that not all have the same need when they do their homework. Some work best at a desk, while others rather move around or spread out on the floor.” tells Anna Carme, who works with the range in Children’s IKEA. “That’s why quite some flexibility is needed around the homework, and that insight helped us develop ÖVNING.”

Room for lively legs

Still, most children have one thing in common – they can’t sit still for long. “Children’s bodies are full of kinetic energy that needs to be released. Science also shows that the learning benefits from physical activity. No matter if it’s wild play before the homework or moving the body while you study,” says Anna and explains how it inspired to create the footrest in the series. “You can rock it back and forth with your feet and use it as support to sit more ergonomically.”

Have fun and find focus

To have your own place to study is important but it doesn’t have to be at a desk. With the desk divider and the desk accessories organizer in the ÖVNING series, it becomes easier to create an own private space that you can take with you to the dining table or the sofa – and personalize with pictures and fun things. “To have fun and move around regularly is often confused with distraction and lack of concentration. We think it’s the opposite. When the study time is flexible and feels fun, it helps the child to focus. It simply works as a reward and a positive spiral.”
