AmazingAbigail S.I love this, I got it for my daughters closet to organize her toys better and we love it. It’s made great of course I built it haha but it’s amazing. Was a little hard to put it together but I got it!!!5
Love it!PatriciaIt’s sturdy, does the job by keeping my son organized and best of all he loves it!5
Not nearly as good as the white versionLYDIA H.We already had the same shelving unit in white, which we LOVED!!! So we decided to get a second set in the natural wood, because we liked the look better. BIG MiSTAKE! The plastic bins don’t stay on the tracks AT ALL! They might as well be stored on the floor- because that’s where they always end up! We never had that problem with the white shelving unit, which had the plastic tracks. This set does not have the plastic tracks- and the plastic bins do NOT stay on the wooden cut-out notches at all. It’s frustrating for us and the kids as well! If you’re looking for toy storage- DO NOT buy these! Go for the cheaper, white ones- They actually store the toys and hold the tubs like they are suppose to! These were a complete waste of money unfortunately. So disappointed because we typically LOVE everything we get from IKEA.1
AwesomeCrystalHas way more room then you would think and o live there is plenty of room to sit things on top too5

ShaskaUsed for the bunk bed hack and worked great5
Great in TheoryIRuthI bought two of these for my classroom, so I can I have extra storage for my students. The unit was difficult to assemble. Pieces would not match up. One unit was built with ease after trading pieces with the second unit. The second required using wood glue to keep the small facing slat in place (the holes were drilled wrong, so the screw could not be used without drilling a third hole and cracking it all together). I do recommend getting it, but make sure the pieces fit properly.3
Son loves it!Mommax3rnBought this to organize my sons room looks very nice want to get a second piece!!5
Sturdy and versatileMom to a full houseI purchased this in the natural wood for my children's play room. It's so sturdy and versatile. I wish I would have gotten it years ago and used it for a dresser. It would have been easy to color code drawers for kids to put away their own laundry, but the same principle works great for toys.5
Great sturdy storage for kidsheatherLMKWe've been living with this for a week and half, and so far it's been great. It went together pretty easily, and I'm really impressed by how it's super sturdy. The bins stay in the track really well. The one on the bottom somehow got knocked out of the track one time, but I've tried to knock the others out and I can't - they fit in there pretty snugly, yet they slide easily. We just have the normal little toys and trinkets that accumulate, so not super heavy but not as light as scarves either, and the bins are handling those well (we got both the $3 bins and the $4 bins). The step design is awesome for extra storage. We currently have those fabric cube boxes that fit in smaller cube shelves sitting on top of each step to hold stuffed animals. The finish is listed as light white stained, but it looks just like natural pine to me - can't detect any finish, which is totally fine with me. The only thing I wish this had was something to stop the drawers when you push them in. I had to set the unit a few inches away from the wall to allow space for an outlet, so my kids are constantly pushing the bins in way too far. There's probably an easy DIY fix, but I'm tired and just don't have the time to figure it out. But overall, very very happy with the purchase.5
Love it being made from WOOD!momma MBought a couple of these for my preschool/pre-k (3,4,5,6 year olds) classroom. Very stable and my littles LOVE using them everyday. The tubs slide in/out easily.5
Great ValueShcoleI purchased a month ago and love it! Pretty simple to assemble. My daughter loves having everything organized and looks great too.5
Fits my room perfectlyGLHRiderihgI love this piece. It fits very well in my cabin and holds a lot of items. I purchased the bins and lids. I only wish it was not white washed pine and was just clear finished, but that is just preference. Functionally a great piece of furniture!5
IndividualLisaATLWe are very experienced Ikea customers and never have a problem to assemble things like a bed, couch, etc., but this piece seem to have parts which did not 100% fit. We like the design, the wood, the color and how individually designable it is, but for us it is just OK. PS: Make sure that you mount it to a wall (WARNING FOR KIDS ROOM), but Ikea also points this out.3
It is a great way to maximize limited spaceChilbertHelp children stay organized5

Looks really nice and is sturdysh323The pine wood is very sturdy and had a clean and fresh look. My only complaint is that the TROFAST storage boxes sometimes slip off the rails. It's a minor annoyance.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favorite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful, renewable and recyclable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood. This way, every tree is put to good use that little extra.
