Product details

You don’t need a bedside table when you have storage in the headboard. This saves space and makes it easier to access boxes or drawers under the bed; and it’s easier to vacuum too.

One of the shelves can be adjusted to 3 different positions.

Hide cables for lamps and chargers by feeding them through the holes at the top of the headboard.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

May be combined with BRIMNES bed with storage or a foundation with legs.

Coordinates with other furniture in the BRIMNES series.

Pricey, But Handy!JericaI bought this because the bed that had this and the bedframe together was sold out. I had to pay extra, but it was worth it- there's an insane amount of storage in this headboard, and it eliminates the need for nightstands.4

Unique design, clears a lot of clutter.SamuelWe had searched for a headboard for our Sleep Number bed for some time. This piece works beautifully. It enabled us to eliminate night stands and eliminate the visible clutter that we had before. Coordinates well with our MALM chest of drawers. Only thing that I find worth improving is the size of the cutouts in the top. Really too small for a lamp to be clipped on, only sized for power cables.5
Nice headboard. Needs 4 legs.JonathanI really do like the headboard. The side shelves are one of the main reasons for getting this. However, I ready think this could use 4 legs. As well a manufacturer made way of mount this headboard to the bed frames.3

empjrI am pleased with the purchase4
Timothy JI bought this a few months ago and looks amazing. Just know it's a high bed and the slats definitely matter.5
So Sleek with secret cubbiesZocoughWe moved up to a king bed and then didn't have room for 2 end tables. This headboard solved that problem, the deep cubbies on the sides are great for storage. The headboard also comes with cut outs to run wires/chargers which is great. And because it is free standing we were able to attach it to the nordli base instead of the Brimnes base.5
Glad I got it!Tex619Good product and easy to assemble!5
is ok but...naturatUnit MUST be screwed to a wall. You cannot therefor have a light, etc on the back of it with a cord going down through the included 2 holes for cords because the head of the cord won't fit through and you can't move it off the wall to get the cord through that way either which means you either have to cut a larger hole in it or disassemble it partly to pull the cable through. Very poor planning. Also, there seriously should be a bottom piece at the head between the front legs and the wall so critters, garbage, etc. can't get back in there.3
R ToweGreat deal for the price! Looks really good.4
Lots of storageMatt94Bought this to compete the bed frame, and it goes great with it. Lots of shelves to store thinhs and the top is great for lamps or pictures. Not too complicated to put together, good to have 2 people at some points during assembly. I anchored mine to the wall, it makes it feel a lot more sturdy.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.
