Perfect except.....XiomaraI love the look. It was perfect for the space I am using it for. Building it was easy for me, but I love a challenge and love building IKEA furniture. My only negative is they do not include the anchoring screws. Please ensue that you are providing folks with this or letting them know it is not included. The instructions make it seem like they should be in the box.4

Love itLauraHave this in my bedroom I love it. Fits perfectly in an awkward place I had and looks great. Actually using part of it for undergarments, socks & face masks and is perfect. Great quality and looks terrific.5
Beware - paying the same high price for particleboard as the one built with solid pineS Y.This item is mostly made of particleboard while the brown/black and dark gray ones are made of nearly all solid pine and yet the price costs the same. I confirmed with customer support that there was no error, they charge the same price even though the material is very different.2
This was a perfect additionArmandoThis was a perfect addition to our guest room furniture, great look and easy to assemble. Can be used to store some toiletries, towels, etc.5
SPECTACULARTriciaAttractive and well-made shoe storage. Beyond happy to install this in the "garage" of our 5th wheel toy-hauler. As full-time RVers, who travel the country, this is a convenient, attractive means to store our shoes.5
It works well where IJaneIt works well where I need it. My only complaint is that I wish the front legs were longer (higher?) so it more easily went over my baseboard without any modifications.5
Fantastic storage solutionDIANAThis shoe cabinet is excellent! It is sturdy and stylish and matches in with my home decor. I bought 2 and have no regrets. I just wish they were easier to find in store… it took me over 6 months to find it in stock.5
Works greatAshleyLove it5
I purchased two and putyolandaI purchased two and put them side-by-side in my entry way. Looks awesome!5
While I appreciate more sustainable materials....SandraI also enjoy solid wood furniture. I have several Hemnes pieces and love the look (and the pine); this is why I shop for furniture at IKEA. I wish there was an option to choose solid wood vs. the particle board/materials.3
Great piece that you don’tInalvisGreat piece that you don’t necessarily have to use for shoes. I keep my towels in it.5
Practical clutter solutionMaryEntry-way clutter solution corrals family shoes im an attractive way. Fairly easy to assemble. Wish it came with wall anchors - I had to make a special trip to hardware store to buy some separately. Overall, very pleased. House guests have complimented it.5
Beauty and FunctionRachelLove this Hemnes shoe cabinet, it’s the perfect addition to my entryway. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is because the top drawer is slightly crooked towards the right side, probably a random defect.4
Great for the most partSarahFor the most part we love it. It looks so nice in our entry way. a couple things to note- the directions suck to put together. But there’s a YouTube video you can watch. Also the shoes don’t stay still in there. They move around. So we haven’t found a fix to that yet although I’m sure there’s something we could do.4
Very niceMatthew H.Very nice cabinet, can hold a lot of shoes, even large men’s shoes. Also great for storing dog toys!5

Love it!JessicaI’ve been eyeballing this product for 3-4 years and I’m so glad I finally got it! My husband assembled it within an hour and was easy to secure to the wall. Very sturdy. It opens very easily and the top drawer is my new favorite junk drawer haha5
My husband"s favorite IKEA purchase.JEANMy husband's favorite IKEA purchase. It is keeping the clutter out of the doorway. Ugly farm shoes hidden, keys out of sight and a place for my purse. My daughter bought one first and I just loved how neat it kept her entryway. Bottom drawer is a little tight, but my daughter assures me it will loosen in time.4
Great for clean look shoe storageAmyFits great in our entryway! Perfect solution for organizing shoes that has a clean look too.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill waste – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a valuable resource instead of being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look. The day your sofa or bed needs replacing, the material in the particleboard can be recycled into something entirely new.

Function solution

Room for more shoes in the hall

HEMNES shoe cabinet has two deep compartments, each with room for two rows of shoes. This means that you can hide away at least twelve pairs of shoes in them - and get a neat and organized hall in the bargain. The compartments also fold down, so you can find the shoes you need quickly and easily.
