Product details

Laminate countertops are very durable and easy to maintain. With a little care, they stay like new for many years.

The thinner countertop with straight edging strip works perfectly in a modern style kitchen.

You can cut the countertop to the length you want and cover the edges with the 2 included edging strips.

Create a perfectly coordinated look by combining this countertop with a matching wall panel.

25-year Limited Warranty. Read about the terms in the Limited Warranty brochure.

Even though laminate is a durable material you should never place hot pots or pans directly on the countertop without a trivet or pot stand.

Do not place a toaster, coffee maker, tea kettle or other kitchen appliances that emit heat directly over a seam between two countertops because the heat can damage the seam.

looks great and is durableDavidlooks great and is durable5
Bought for bathroomskyWe bought two large hemnes vanities and used our own sink tops. We used this ekbacken for a countertop. It was easy to cut to size and looks great. We have had it installed for several months now and have had no issues.5
great valuedavidlooks nice, cleans easily ... also chips easily so be careful.4
Love itAmandaIt was not as good quality as the Salian, which I bought for the basement kitchen. I prefer the increased thickness of that countertop. However, this is great value and quality all the same. I have 4 areas in the kitchen including and island and it’s stood up to time and use.5
Looks nice, but bows like crazyAndrea T.I purchased this as a desk top to go on top of 2 Alexa Drawer units, to make a desk. I purchase 2 support legs to put in the middle of the desk, to support my computer monitor, and even with that, it still appears to be bowing. I have had it for about a year now, and it seems just as bad now, as it was on day one, when we first put it together. It does not properly rest on the desk units, instead, it lifts up, and slides around. Are there any suggestions on how to fix this? It's a real bummer. (I had weights on either side, but it looks awful, and it is not at all functional with giant weights on my desk.)1

Great Product, Good PriceTobyOne of the few opportunities out there to get a pre finished countertop. Good value.4
Love it!ConstanceThis was easy to cut to fit and install. I used it in my bathroom with 2 vessel sinks and I’m very happy with how it turned out.5
This countertop rocksSUSANWhy on earth would you spend thousands of dollars on an expensive countertop? The Erbacken is beautiful, functional and economical! It is made from recycled water bottles and the price is unbelievable. We spent about $300 for our Erbacken countertops and we love them!5
Great inexpensive countertops.MaggieI love the black slate look of these, and the fact that spills wipe up easily and spots don't show after the counter is washed. Paired perfectly with the kungsbacka slab we used on the back of the peninsula.5
Counter top suggestions for improvementMARTHAThe appearance and feel of this surface is outstanding: it’s resemblance to wood has made us warn people not to cut on it. The drawbacks are that the surface is brittle, installing it without chipping of pieces when cutting the sink holes required mote-than usual care: we had to reapply cracked bits of surface with glue in two places, and we are skilled and experienced cabinet installers (using tape and other cut protecting practices like pre-scoring was insufficient) A bit more resilience In the chemical makeup I If the waterproof surface would amend this flaw in an otherwise fabulous looking product!3
Perfect!ELLENRedoing the kitchen on a very tight budget made these perfect for new countertops. I especially liked that there were no raw edges, great for the breakfast bar! The sink hole cut out neatly without flakes and shards. They clean up nicely, and look fab!5
Good CountertopDREWI gave it 4 stars only because the instructions to attach the end pieces on the cut sides is not very straightforward. Having to do some YouTube videos to make sure I do that right. Other than that these are working great for our office.4
Great countertopCarolGreat value. Similar countertops need to be ordered at big box stores at 3x the cost. Installed in laundry room. Very durable and easy to maintain.5
Those countertops I had inOLGAThose countertops I had in my previous kitchen, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and functionality, as well as look of it. After many years on the market, the color and appearance of side and grey top were changed, and this did not worked for me. Will be returning the product.3
Great qualityNicholasGreat quality item, although we had to return it, as it was slightly too long for our needs. We would definitely recommend though!5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What are foil and laminate?

Some wooden materials need protection with a durable and easy-care foil or laminate surface. The choice depends on the end use and desired finish. We often use paper foil for storage furniture, while plastic foil suits demanding areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Today, the plastic we use is mostly recycled and our goal is to use plastic from renewable sources. Laminate is made of resin-impregnated paper, which adds a durable and moisture-resistant surface for countertops.

Quality

Built and tested to last

We believe that our kitchen countertops should meet your highest demands when it comes to design and performance, without compromise. That’s why we test our countertops, and put them up against the everyday challenges they’ll face in your kitchen: liquids, oil, food, steam, heat, bumps and scratches. When they’ve passed our testing, we know they’ll last, and we guarantee it with our 25 year limited warranty.
