Do not recommendCatherineUnfortunately I did not read reviews and yes it scratched right away! We had IKEA countertops installed and they're beautiful but stay away from this sink.1
I like this sink a lotpaula1988It is true that it takes some effort to install it, but it is not impossible and it is not easy anyway. I like that it is almost same level as countertop, which makes the difference to many others, so very convenient to clean around and looks gorgeous. Gave it a 4 since it does get scratches but after a while it speeds and looks smooth enough for a 4.4
New Sink and Already All ScratchedHadas_dasThe sink has gotten many scratches from the first days of use. Customers Service have no real response for us, they are willing to return the sink's cost but that does not solve the problem of a very bad looking sink.1
Looks like, but fasteners are complete junk!!Johnson92I’m just wrapping up remodeling my entire kitchen by myself, and everything has been excellent EXCEPT this sink! This clips are flimsy metal that you have to install in the most difficult way imaginable, and they simply won’t tighten down properly. When you try to apply even a modest amount of force to get a tight fit, and pop right out and fall off! I tried looking up videos of how to do it better, but all I found were videos of Ilea’s old slip design that was so much better than the current design, it only made me more mad about this horrific replacement they came up with. Anything else ikea makes seems to be well thought and does together easily. Everything but this! NO NOT BUY!!1
Skip the sink!!!JRS1I have been using this sink for 3 months and it can't be 20 gauge stainless steel like the product description says. I do not care about the surface scratches, this is normal wear, but when I place a mixing bowl full of water to soak for a few minutes and it results in a divot in the sink, that is not OK. Dissatisfied.1
Looks Great, BUT Scratches Easily.Kelly_BeauThe sink looks amazing, but scratches way to easy with everyday items. Researched and found a sink grid from Elkay CTXB2614. Make sure to purchase this before placing anything inside sink. I am much happier now with grid, but unfortunately sink is damaged already.2
Great Sink!Patchy0catIt is the perfect sink for our kitchen remodel. A sink grid for this model was hard to find. The one we found that fits perfect is by Elkay and the model number is CTXBG2614. It runs about $53.00 and had to be back ordered, but once received we are even more happy with our NORRSJÖN sink.5
Love this sink!Mary6019We installed our new Ikea kitchen 8 months ago with the large Norrsjon sink and it has been better than we imagined. I am puzzled by all the negative reviews. We cook (a lot) and use the sink all day, everyday and it's versatility has been wonderful. We can fill tall pots easily with water, clean large saucepans with long handles effortlessly and find it very easy to keep clean with a bit of Bar Keepers Friend from time to time. Of course it is going to show wear since it is one of the most utilitarian pieces of equipment you have in your kitchen! I think it unrealistic to think that the bottom of your sink will always look like the front face of your stainless steel appliances which are only there for aesthetic purposes. After all these months, we still love the functionality and look of our Norrsjon sink and would definitely buy another one.5
Looks niceSophie0416Worst sink ever do not buy !! Just remodeled kitchen and not wish I never bought this sink. I should haves looked at the reviews. This product is already scratched and I’ve only been using it for a week. So disappointed. I hope IKEA reads this. Stop selling this product . It’s not worth it .1
Looks beautiful, if you never use itbubkisI used IKEA for a total kitchen remodel and the only disappointment was this sink. Within a week, it was scratched and dented (minimal use) and is now an eye sore in an otherwise beautiful space. They say it has a 25 year warranty but who's going to cover the cost of uninstalling and reinstalling a superior product. I'm am woefully disappointed.1
Love the look but scratches too easilySDAndiJust like other reviewers have said, this sink scratches too easily. We just finished our kitchen remodel on January 5th and within 2 weeks of careful use (even had a soft mat in the sink to try to protect it), it has been scratched. We are very sad.1
Worst quality!!!yessieIt got scratches since day one. aaand it rusted1
Looks good but sadly doesn"t lastLueyI've only had this sink for 2-3 weeks and like the other reviewers, it already looks worn out. I learned with the first few days that the scrubbing side of sponge leaves scratch marks (not a steall pad but a regular plastic sponge) but even dishes/pots/pans have also been leaving large scratches. Disappointing that a sink that should like a long time would scratch so easily with every day use. Perhaps it should be more clear within the sink packaging that only cloth/towels should be used in cleaning. Had to learn this the hard way :(1
TerriblePhild32It's been one week since the sink was installed. The bottom of the sink has scratches and marks where pots were placed. We have done nothing different than with any other stainless steel sink we have owned. The sink looks like it has been used for years!1
Difficult install, scratches easilybchildThe sink brackets are a little flimsy and the mechanism to keep the bolt part of the bracket anchored to the sink is weak and easily bent which is frustrating when you are working in a narrow space under the sink. Also the sink scratches really easily. The scrubby side of the green and yellow sponges (plastic material) will leave scratches. It looks great but was frustrating to install and seems poorly made for stainless steel.2
Perfect for small sink baseChrisBNewHampshirePurchased to fit an existing 18 sink base in small ski condo. Were able to remove the existing sink and cut opening to fit Norrjon. Went in easily and looks fabulous with the recommended boson faucet.5

Material

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is a durable material which means that your sink bowl, for example, is highly stain resistant. When the material is new, it is natural that the first scratches are visible, but they become less visible over time as the material is used and gets a more matte tone. This means that your stainless steel sink bowl will age well and only become finer over the years.
