Spolad DW - so far not so goodAl M.1st time we used it the little plastic pieces that hold the top shelf onto the slides came off and the whole shelf flies out. Not due to weight or anything, they just won't stay in place. As far as cleaning, the heated dry didn't dry. There was dirty water sitting in the edge of a pan which can happen, but the pressure to rinse should make the water sitting at least clean, this was watery tomato sauce. Hoping it improves and we can figure out why the plastic things aren't staying in place to keep our top shelf from flying out and falling.2
Amazing dishwasher…sanjayWe replaced a KitchenAid that was about 15 years old because we couldn’t get parts anymore. This one is even quieter - in the beginning we accidentally open it while it was running g because it’s make virtually no audible noise.
Got the custom panel unit.5
Looks great! Washer ok, smells terriblesusan b.Very disappointed with this washer my old kenmore runs circles around this. Slow wash cycles, lots of condensation after a heat dry cycle. The worst thing is this washer smells like old wet dog. I’ve done a vinegar cycle, several empty cycles and it still reeks!! Stay away from this washer.2
Doesn"t wash fine anymoreJulio V.Mine is about 1 year old. Run it 1 or 2 times a week. It worked fine for the first 3 months then eventually I started finding dishes not well cleaned. I removed filter and cleaned well, even the sprayer, I even changed different detergent. Still dishes don't come out clean. And it's getting worse. I'll try to return it if possible. Otherwise I'll just bit the bullet and throw it away and get a Bosch or Amana.1
Horrible smellCLAIRE M.First of all, this dishwasher looks great. Adding the cabinet panel really completes our kitchen. But this nearly brand new dishwasher causes our dishes to smell like wet dog. I have tried a number of things to eliminate this with no luck.
I can see that some water sits in the bottom of the unit under the filter after every wash. This is apparently by design so the gaskets don't dry out. But the water that is left in the unit is murky and dirty. I believe that this is what leads to bacteria growing inside the unit.2

Lots of problems & clearly an outdated modelcabotsdadInstalled a new kitchen 12/19. I am an accomplished design draftsman and using the IKEA kitchen design tool was so easy for me. Came up with a knockout design and we love the how it came out; quality of the cabinets, the overall design, the workmanship of the install contractors - everything is 100% awesome! Except the dishwasher. The design required that the dishwasher have a panel that matched the rest of the cabinets - in this small kitchen a stainless dishwasher would have disrupted the whole design. The person working in the kitchen showroom the day we placed the order for the project was adamant that the IKEA panels would only work on the dishwashers sold through IKEA. So, even though I was hesitant, we went ahead and ordered the SPOLAD dishwasher. I wish I hadn't. While it works *fine* it is not a great machine. When unloading after running the heated dry setting, the dishes are still wet. There isn't enough insulation between the machine and the cabinets and countertop; the counters and adjacent cabinets get warm to the touch after running a cycle. It is loud; like 1970's era dishwasher loud - did the contract with whirlpool stipulate no insulation in the door? And it is SLOW. Some of the cycles take over two hours to run. Most frustratingly, the front door leaks. I discovered this two months after the install when I happened to notice some water on the floor in front of the washer one day. Cleaning it up I realized there was more beneath the machine. I removed the toe kick panel and found a significant pool of water under the cabinets and there was evidence this wasn't the first time it had leaked. Over the next few days I monitored closely and was able to zero in on a poorly sealing gasket as the culprit. The toe kick has been removed permanently from below that section of the cabinets and I now place a tea towel on the floor below the door to absorb the leaking water. Adding insult to injury, the leak is intermittent. I reached out to IKEA and was told Whirlpool would have to handle the problem as a warranty issue. Still waiting to hear back from them. I understand the global pandemic has really disrupted business for everyone, so I am being patient. This is a really sour note to deal with after investing nearly $30K into this kitchen. I get the feeling that Whirlpool gives IKEA a great deal on models they are looking to sell off as technology and features advance.2
Good buy, and totally recommend.Mama alegoWe have this dishwasher for 5 years, using it up to three times a day. Cleans really good and is quiet for us. Sadly a piece of glass got stuck in the inside, and messed it up. We will buy another one, because it’s that good, price is great, and it’s panel ready.5
NahShaan2037Love my kitchen. Returned the dishwasher.1
Haven’t gotten to useTJS2My dishwasher was installed and hooked up but my plumber wasn’t sure how it was supposed to be bolted down. I called Ikea and have yet to be told how to do it. They were going to “get back to me”. That was a month ago. Wow!1
